Buti Yoga is a workout that fuses vinyasa yoga with cardio-intensive bursts + dance + strength + conditioning + deep abdominal toning. It utilizes the Spiral Structure Technique to sculpt and tone the deep abdominal muscles that stabilize and strengthen the body. Buti is a Marathi (language spoken in parts of Western India) word that translates to "the cure to something that has been hidden away or kept secret." By tapping into primal movements we let go of patterns or inhibitions that may be holding us back.
SomaYoga is a unique blending of work that includes Classic Yoga Asana (postures), Traditional Therapeutic Yoga, and the Neuromuscular Re-Education of Somatics. SomaYoga works to raise awareness of habitual muscular reflex patterns by directing students to sense and feel into areas of commonly held tension. Learn practical skills for reducing tension you can use at home, school, or work. Perfect for any skill level and those suffering from chronic pain.
The beginner class introduces the fundamental principles of alignment and breath work in a flow of postures linked together by the breath. Students will be introduced to yoga postures through step-by-step verbal description and demonstration. Emphasis is placed on student understanding, safety, and stability within each pose. Gradually these poses will be linked together into a gentle flowing sequence.
This class introduces hatha and vinyasa immersion for all levels with the main focus of listening to our bodies. This class helps build strength and endurance, increase flexibility, and improve posture and balance. Students will learn to use props, modify poses, transition carefully, and find their appropriate balance between ease and effort. Special attention is paid to building core strength and balance to prevent falls. Breath work, relaxation and meditation practices are included to encourage stress reduction.
Yoga for Youth classes will focus on exploring and expanding friendship, self-esteem and discovering the warrior within. We will experiment with a variety of poses, from simple to challenging, and may work together in partner and group poses.
Prenatal Yoga is designed to help expectant mothers connect with their body, baby and other mothers-to-be. These sequences will teach breath awareness, deep relaxation, and meditation while strengthening muscles that will support baby during pregnancy and birth.
